Std Operating Procedures and work instructions?

I'm currently working on a run book automation project building template solutions in a wide variety of processes and workflows. The idea is to use the tool to instrument and automate typical IT operations workflows, procedures and tasks. Could be something as simple as managing log files, or as complex as on-boarding an employee. If you can think of any scenario in which you need to script, and then execute against multiple tools on a routine basis, then that is a good target. While I have many higher level ITIL process maps, etc, I find that there are not a lot of step-by-step how-to guides for many common IT tasks. We've already done most of the kit around virtualization, but I would welcome any documentation on procedures in other subjects, like server provisioning, etc. The devil is in the details, and it will assist me to have accurate instructions. Please forward any contributions to markbsigler@gmail.com with OMC in the subject. Thx.
